Giving God acceptable worship is one of our duties as Christians.

Hello lovely souls! Today I'll be writing about a topic that's incredibly close to my heart. It's something a lot of us have yet to understand or know how to do as Christians—it's giving God an acceptable worship.

Worship means a lot of different things to every Christian, but today we will be looking into the Word of God to gain a better understanding of what worship is.

First off, as Christ-like individuals, we are called to a life of constant heartfelt worship to God every day, regardless of the situation we find ourselves in.

Giving God acceptable worship is one of our duties as Christians. However, worship is more than singing songs of admiration, adoration, and love for God, although that’s definitely a part of it. Worship is not entirely about singing in church gatherings with eyes closed, it's living fully for God.

I appeal to you therefore, brothers by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”

Romans 12:1, ESV

Let's begin.

What Does “Acceptable” Mean?

Acceptable is something worthy, decent, and sure of being received.

What Does “Worship” Mean?

Worship is the devotion or adoration accorded to God alone. Worship is a lifestyle. Also, it is a state of our heart as Christians.

What is Acceptable Worship?

Acceptable worship is giving God devotion or adoration that is worthy, decent and sure of being accepted by Him. This can only be achieved by a life that is truly yielded to our personal Savior, Lord Jesus Christ. Worship is more than singing slow melodious songs to God or praying—it's living daily for God

The Bible provides us with numerous ways to give God acceptable worship as Christians, but for our topic, I'll be sharing 5 tips on how to give God acceptable worship.

5 Successful Tips on How to Give God Acceptable Worship

Acceptable worship is worship that is offered in the right way and from a right heart to God. This article will guide us to reverence and know how to give God acceptable worship as Christians.

1. Offer Yourself as a Living Sacrifice Daily

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”

Romans 12:1, ESV

Understand you are a Christian:

Understanding that you’ve been called out from among sinners (2 Corinthians 6:16-17) to live a life of holiness to God that will help you consecrate your life to Him. This enables you to give God acceptable worship. Knowing your identity as a Christian is the starting point to a beautiful life of worship to God.

Communicate Clearly:

Express your love for God to Him and your need to understand how to give Him acceptable worship. He's a loving God that will always come through for anyone that genuinely wants to serve Him appropriately (Psalms 86:11).

Always be with Christ-like folks:

This will help you train your mind and heart to always meditate on God's word, it will fine tune your discussions and thought patterns (Hebrews 10:25).

2. Offer Your Worship From a Pure Heart

If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.

Psalms 66:18, KJV

Practice self-reflection:

Checking your heart by constantly using the Word of God will keep your heart clean and free from sin (Psalms 139: 23, James 1:22- 25). A heart not in check is a breeding ground for the devil and sinful thoughts.

Flee from any appearance of evil:

Do this just as literal as it seems or sounds. This will help you not to consciously fall into sin (1 Thessalonians 5:22, 2 Timothy 2:22).

3. Let Your Worship Glorify God and Not Man

Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.”

Matthew 6:1, ESV

Let everything you do glorify God and not man, not even yourself. Doing this keeps pride at bay and your heart in a bent position of continuous worship to God

(1 Corinthians 10:31).

4. Worship God in Spirit and in Truth

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

John 4:24, KJV

Let your worship emanate from a place of gratitude, love, and, honor to God; not from a place of what you will get from Him (Colossians 3:16- 17). Worshipping in spirit and in truth helps us give God acceptable worship and equally boost our spiritual life.

Let's offer quality worship to God. God called David a man after His heart because he lived a life of constant worship to God, always acknowledging Him king, and Lord over everything. He was always giving God quality offerings of worship (2 Samuel 24:24). King Solomon also gave God a quality sacrifice of worship (1 Kings 3:4-5). Hence, let your worship cost you.

5. Offer Worship as an Act of Obedience to God

And Samuel said,

‘Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,

as in obeying the voice of the Lord?

Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,

and to listen than the fat of rams.’”

1 Samuel 15:22, ESV

Obedience to God is an act of worship. You cannot claim to love or worship God and not obey Him.

Conclusion| How to Give God Acceptable Worship

God accepts worship that is genuine and from a pure heart, these 5 successful tips on how to give God acceptable worship will guide you on how to get started. However, they can only come from a yielded heart filled with love, honor, and gratitude to God. Also, never restrict your worship to just church gatherings, singing of gospel songs, or praying because your life is a worship to God.
