Inspire Within Devotion

Scripture

 “Your righteousness, O God,

  reaches the high heavens.

You who have done great things,

  O God, who is like you?

You who have made me see many troubles and calamities

  will revive me again;

from the depths of the earth

  you will bring me up again.

You will increase my greatness

  and comfort me again.”

Psalm 71:19-21, ESV

Encouragement

The author of this Psalm, which was possibly David in his older age, showed God’s righteousness and holiness. The psalmist was not spared from the troubles and calamities of life, but that did not cause the psalmist’s confidence to waver. The psalmist knew that God would revive him and bring comfort in the due time.

God does the same for us. Our life can get HARD, though we not should allow our troubles to doubt the righteousness and greatness of our Holy God. God is the One who revives and comforts. Let’s run to God for restoration and comfort!

Reflection

Do you feel like the troubles of life are overtaking you? Run to God. Do you need comfort? Turn to God and He will revive you again. Though troubles and calamities come in this life, God is always righteous. There is no one like Him! God revives and comforts, even when it may not feel like that is possible for you. Run into God’s embrace.

Quote
