Inspire Within Daily Devotional

Scripture

“The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

Matthew 6:22-24, NIV

Encouragement

Let’s be full of light. The only way for us to be full of light is to be full of Christ. When we are full of Christ, His light fills us, and any darkness has to flee. Serving God means wholehearted devotion to only Him. Jesus taught the importance of serving one master and how we cannot serve both God and money. Commitment to God and our spiritual matters far outweighs what money can buy. Let us serve God and God alone!

Reflection

What is your master? Think about what occupies your thoughts, efforts, and time. God should always be first. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the things of this world. Ask God to help you keep your focus on Him, so that He will remain number one in your life.

Quote
