“Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;
for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.”
James 1:19-20, ESV
Our anger produces unrighteousness and evil. Show your appreciation to others by taking time to listen with your full attention. Learn to think before you speak, so that you can prevent hurtful words. Slow down and relax in the moments before anger starts to stir within you. Let’s take this verse to heart and meditate on it daily, so that we will be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger.
Do you struggle with taking time to listen and thinking before you speak? Are you allowing anger to take control of you? Take time to memorize this verse. Repeat in your thoughts each day and night. Keep it at the front of your mind in every conversation as a reminder to listen, think before all your words, and be slow to anger.
"Let’s take this verse to heart and meditate on it daily, so that we will be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger."
