Inspire Within Devotion

Scripture

We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him:

Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.”

1 John 2:3-6, NIV

Encouragement

Following God is obedience to His word. Our actions reflect our walk with Christ. Scripture says, “Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.” When we follow Christ, we obey His commands, then the love of God is perfected in us. Knowing Christ is expressed through obeying His commands. Obedience to God’s Word aligns with His Word, if an action contradicts God’s Word then it is not obedience. Let our obedience demonstrate our walk with Christ!

Reflection

Is your walk with Christ demonstrated through obedience to Him? Are you being obedient to God? Nobody can live a perfect life, but that shouldn’t keep us from striving to obey God’s Word. Align your life with God’s Word.

Quote

"Obedience to God’s Word aligns with His Word, if an action contradicts God’s Word then it is not obedience."
