Inspire Within Devotion

Scripture

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then,

and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”

Galatians 5:1, NIV

Encouragement

Freedom from our sins is found in Jesus Christ. Because of the perfect sacrifice of Jesus, we are set free from our bondage of sin and law. There is nothing we can do in our limited strength to save ourselves from death; Salvation is only found in Christ. If we consider our good works and obedience to God’s Word as what saves us from death, we are discrediting the immense value of Christ’s death for our salvation. (Galatians 2:21)

Every one of us was born into this world as a sinner, but from God’s wonderful plan to redeem us through His Son, we can stand firm in Christ knowing that we are no longer burdened by a yoke of slavery (slaves to the law). Through Christ, we are sons and daughters of God. Stand firm, brother and sisters, you are free from the law and live in the faith of Jesus our Lord!

Reflection

Do you believe that your faith in Christ Jesus saves you from the slavery of sin? Faith in Christ leads to true freedom. Salvation is not found by doing good and obeying the law. Though obedience is a result from our transformation of salvation in Christ, freedom is only possible with faith in Christ from His sacrifice on the cross. Praise God for His plan of redemption!

Quote

"There is nothing we can do in our limited strength to save ourselves from death; Salvation is only found in Christ."
