Inspire Within Devotions

Scripture

“‘You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.’”
Matthew 5:14-16, ESV

Encouragement

God’s People are the light of the world. The light of God shines through your life. Let your light shine so that the people around you will see the goodness of God. Scripture says, “A city on a hill cannot be hidden.” There is no way to hide the light that shines from a city on top of a hill. As long as we are walking in the light of Christ, we are being a light to the world!

Never doubt the impact you have to lead others to the Lord through the good deeds that come from following Christ. As children of God, we are called to let our light shine before others, so that they may give glory to God. People don’t light a lamp to hide it, but rather they light a lamp to give light to everyone around it. Keep walking in the light of Christ, so that those who don’t know the Lord can walk with Him too!

Reflection

Are you walking in the light of the Lord? How can you lead those around you to walk with Christ? Pray that God will shine through you so that others will see the goodness of God and be lead to follow Christ too.

Quote

"As children of God, we are called to let our light shine before others, so that they may give glory to God."
