Inspire Within Devotion

Scripture

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6-7, ESV

Encouragement

Do you know that God gives a peace that is beyond our understanding? Even though the severity our anxiety can vary from person to person, anxiety is a struggle for anyone who is human. But the good news is… peace is attainable to us through God.

Instead of focusing on our anxiety and allowing it to control or paralyze us, we are to bring it to God in prayer with thanksgiving. Wholehearted thanksgiving to God leads to praising Him. Moments full of praise can help with anxiety, since it takes the attention off the weakness of self and emphasizes the strength of God who is deserving of all praise. The peace of God guards our hearts and minds.

Reflection

Do you need peace? God gives a peace that surpasses all understanding. Tell God your request, thank Him for your blessings and His goodness. God’s peace guards your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

Quote
