As Christians, the Holy Spirit fills us and lives in us. As the verse reads, our bodies are a “temple of the Holy Spirit”. Since we have received the Holy Spirit from God, our bodies are no longer our own, which means we should not live by our fleshly desires. Jesus’ death on the cross freed us from being a slave to sin. We were bought at the price of the precious blood of Jesus, who is the perfect lamb without blemish or defect.
The one who is united with the Lord is one with Him in spirit. Our bodies are made to honor God, not do whatever our sinful flesh desires. Many people say that people are free to do whatever they want to do with their bodies. Yes, we do have free will, but God’s people should live in a way that honors Him with their bodies and what they do.
