“Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.”
Philippians 2:12-13, NIV
We should have an attitude that is the same as Jesus Christ. (Read previous verses in Philippians 2:5-11.) God leads us to act according to His good purpose—to obedience to His Will. To “work out our salvation” does not mean that we must do good works to have salvation. We do good works to be obedient to God and show that our faith is sincere. Obedience to God’s Will is listening and obeying what He said to do. May we always follow God and have an attitude that reflects Christ.
Know that God is always beside you to help you do His Will. Even when you don’t want to obey, God can give you the desire and strength to do what pleases Him. Ask God to help you want to do His Will and have an attitude like Christ.
