To be mature and complete we must experience various trials. Our true character is shown when we are under pressure. Experiences are life lessons and can test our faith. As the scripture says, “the testing of your faith develops perseverance”. The KJV version uses the word ‘steadfastness’ in the place of perseverance. Steadfastness can be defined as the quality of being determinedly or obediently firm and unwavering.
Look at your trials and struggles as an opportunity to grow firm and unwavering in your faith, instead of complaining about them or allowing them to waver your faith. Paul said to consider it joy when you have trials of various kinds, because through them you develop perseverance. God wants you to be “mature and complete, not lacking anything”. He promises to be with you in the hard times and He will never leave you to fight alone.
