Christ told Paul that His grace was sufficient for him, and that His power was made perfect in weakness. The same is true for us; the same is true for YOU. Paul said in verse 8 that he pleaded with God three times to take away his affliction, but God did not. We don’t know what Paul’s affliction was, whether a need for physical healing or a spiritual struggle, though we do know that we all have afflictions that feel unbearable.
Paul gives us a remarkable outlook about our weaknesses by reminding us that we should not depend on our own strength to get through our weaknesses. For we can’t do it alone. We need Christ. With Christ, when you are weak, you are strong, because the power of Christ may rest on you. Whatever your afflictions or struggles are, take this scripture to heart. Jesus says that His grace is sufficient for you, for His power is made perfect in weakness.
