This verse says that water reflects a face and a man’s heart reflects the man. Reflect means “to give back or show an image of; mirror” according to Dictionary.com. The condition of our heart reflects who we are and how we act. A kind heart will reflect good things. An unkind heart will reflect bad things.
We should examine our own heart like we examine our face by examining our thoughts, intentions, attitudes, and consciences. Although we are unable to have pure, perfect heart in this life, we ought to strive to reflect the love of Jesus Christ and the perfect example that He walked. The only way we can have pure heart is through Christ. We must allow Him in to change our heart where it needs to be made new.
