Scripture

Pharaoh said to Joseph, ‘I had a dream, and no one can interpret it. But I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.'
‘I cannot do it,’ Joseph replied to Pharaoh, ‘but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires.’”
Genesis 41:15-16, NIV

Encouragement

Joseph displayed a wonderful example of what it looks like to give God the credit for your gifts and abilities. Without God, Joseph would have not been able to interpret even ONE dream. Joseph knew where his great ability came from, and he certainly wasn’t afraid to show the One for whom credit was due. He glorified God for His goodness!

God deserves all the credit for what He does through your life. Gifts are a great way to glorify God. You can have the same response as Joseph with your gifts and abilities. Don’t allow pride or selfishness to take the credit for the success of your gifts, instead allow your gift to glorify God. Be like Joseph’s example and glorify God with your gifts!

Reflection

What are some ways that you can give God the glory for your gifts? Check your heart for any pride or selfishness. If you have any pride, confess to God and ask for Him to humble your heart and show you ways that you can glorify Him with your gifts.
