“When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. ‘Get up,” he said, ‘take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.’ So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt, where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: ‘Out of Egypt I called my son.’”
Matthew 2:13-15, NIV
It’s amazing how God’s Plans are unstoppable. When the ruthless King Herod tried to put an end to Jesus’ life, the Lord sent an angel to warn Joseph and send his family to a safe place. This is a great reminder for us to be obedient to the Lord without hesitation because He has a reason for what He asks of us. No one can thwart our God’s Plans or His Word. Jesus Christ was sent by God to the earth to save us all from our sins.
In this Scripture, it is interesting to note the parallel of the story of Israel being lead out of Egypt and Jesus being brought back to Egypt. In both stories, it displays God saving He people. God saved the Israelites from ruthless slavery in Egypt, and He saved Jesus’ life, who saved the lives of us all.
God’s Purpose will always triumph the plans of man, because He is God and we are not. Always seek the will of God. If you are walking with God, God will lead you and you will feel His peace when you are in His Will. Today, read Matthew chapter 2 for further study about the early life of Christ.
"No one can thwart our God’s Plans or His Word."
