“All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.”
Proverbs 14:23, NIV
Proverbs is so full of wisdom. Hard work is worth it. This Scripture says that “all hard work brings a profit”. A profit is defined as “a valuable return”. (According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary) Hard work equals a valuable return. We were created to work and it benefits our life too. “Mere talk” won’t bring a profit in our life.
The Scripture says “mere talk leads only to poverty”. If we were to just merely talk about working to bring a profit instead of actually acting on it, then we would tend to poverty.
Poverty means “the state of one who lacks a usual or socially acceptable amount of money or material possessions”. The KJV translation uses the word
penury: “a cramping and oppressive lack of resources (such as money)”. Let us always put to action hard work, so that we may get profit from our hard work!
Be reminded today to always work hard by giving 100% effort. You will see a profit for your hard work.
"Hard work equals a valuable return"
