“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!”
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, NIV
We are designed to have companionship. Through companionship, we can have someone to support us when we need it and to lift us when we fall. God doesn’t want us to isolate ourselves. “Two are better than one” because they have good profit for their work and friend can help you up when you fall. Some people have many friends and others have very few friends, but the amount does not matter as much as how genuine the friendship is.
Let us have genuine friends who lead us closer toward Christ, lifts us when we fall, helps us when we need it, and who we can help when they need it. Though let us also be a genuine friend. We are called to serve God and others. May we be a companion to the people in our life!
Are you lonely and need companionship? Tell God how you feel and ask God to send you someone who is a true friend and companion. Know that God is always there to talk to when you feel isolated and alone. How can you be a friend to the people around you daily?
"Through companionship, we can have someone to support us when we need it and to lift us when we fall."
