Reading through the Bible is a great accomplishment! There are many Christians who have never read through the entire Bible (myself included!), so if you have never read through the Bible then you are not alone. Are you wanting to read through the whole Bible? Do you want to read the Bible in a year, but can never make it through any yearly Bible plans? Keep reading to find out more about the Eden to Eternity Bible study, which goes through the whole Bible in chronological order and makes it possible to read the Bible in a year in just about 20 minutes a day.
If you don’t make it a goal to read through the Bible, it will never happen. Therefore, reading through the Bible in a year, or simply reading through the whole Bible in any amount of time, must first start by having a goal. The fact that you are reading this article shows that you are probably either interested in reading through the Bible or want to make it a goal. So, congrats on taking the first step!
I personally have been trying to read the Bible straight through, but it is taking way longer than I expected (almost 4 years to get over halfway through). While there is nothing wrong with taking several years to read through the Bible, it seems best for me to have a better plan to help guide myself. This brings me to my next tip that I’m following to make it through the Bible…
Instead of using a standard reading plan, I have opted for using a Bible study to guide me through the Bible. This chronological Bible study from Daily Grace Co makes me excited! The Eden to Eternity Chronological Bible Study is such as wonderful study to lead you through the entire Bible in 365 days. There are not many Bible studies that I know about that go through each passage of Scripture like this one from Daily Grace Co.
Eden to Eternity is a 4-volume chronological Bible Study that truly highlights the story of Scripture in the order that it happened. In just a few weeks of doing this Bible study, I have seen God’s plan of redemption and Jesus Christ revealed. God’s Word is a big story and Christ is seen throughout Scripture. So far, it has been so eye-opening to me, and feels like I’m experiencing God’s Word in a way that I never have before.
Each day includes a passage of the Bible to read (usually 3-4 chapters) and a summary of that Scripture. After reading the daily passage, the daily summary explains what you just read to help give you a biblical perspective and a better understanding of Scripture. Following the summary, you are given three questions to reflect on and write down your thoughts.
The Eden to Eternity Bible Study has exceeded my expectations, which I have only read through the book of Job and almost all of Genesis! Find out more about the

It can be challenging to read through the whole Bible, especially by yourself. An accountability partner may be just the motivation you need to make through the Bible, plus things are just better when someone else joins you. Finding accountability is beneficial, even if you don’t feel like you need accountability it is still nice to have someone to share and discuss what the Lord shows you through your time in His Word.
It is easy to start a Bible Study, but not as easy to finish a Bible study. That is true for most things—anyone can start something. It is the finish line that most people struggle with. Many times, I have started Bible studies and Bible readings, only to toss them aside and never think about them again. This is why I recommend finding accountability.
My accountability partner for the Eden to Eternity Bible Study is my big sister. It can be anyone though. Your close friend, your spouse, your parent, your sibling, etc. Who is the first person that comes to mind when you think about spiritual accountability?
Reading through the Bible will require time, commitment, and determination. But you CAN do it!! Just like how anyone can start, anyone can finish too. Just gotta keep with it. Even if you miss a day, week, or month, you just can pick up where you left off. Give yourself grace!
Reading through the Bible doesn’t have to be completed in a year. If it takes you longer than a year, don't beat yourself up, or don't give up just because you've missed weeks. You’re going to have days that you miss and you just got to pick yourself up and do it the next day. Or do it the next time you can and just keep it up.
That is another great thing about the Eden to Eternity chronological Bible study, it is created with the option to read the Bible in 365 days, but it can be used in any way that you prefer. My sister and I have committed to doing it 4 times a week, instead of every day. Our goal isn’t to read the Bible in a year, but rather, to make it through the whole Bible. That way it is more realistic and less intimidating. We know that there will be days that we need to catch up, and there have already been times when we needed those catch-up days.
It doesn't matter if you read through the Bible in a year or more than a year, the only thing that matters is if you make it through. You can do it! Let me know if you are reading through the Bible for the first time by commenting down below.
