“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses,
but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.”
Hebrews 4:15, ESV
Our High Priest, Jesus, lived a completely sinless life. Jesus is able to sympathize with us since He became a human being and was tempted in the same ways that we are. Yet He was without sin! This is amazing news! We not only serve a Perfect Savior who paid the debt for our sins, but we can receive help from Christ and His perfect example when we are tempted. Jesus, who was perfect and sinless, and who bore our sins on the cross for our salvation, can sympathize with our weaknesses.
Got temptations and weaknesses? We all do! If you are suffering from temptations, seek Christ who understands your struggle. Christ can help you; He can lead you out of your temptation. Hebrews 2:18 (ESV) says, “For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.” Also, read 1 Corinthians 10:13 (ESV), “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”
